7. Patsy and Sally

A student threw alcohol on the barbeque fire and Bernice was badly burned. She spent a month in the hospital. Both hands and legs are effectively in a cast of burn bandages so she cannot bend her legs or arms. Teams of students came from the Lujiang University to bring food and feed her during the daytime. The hospital has no food or nursing care. She gave lessons to the students while they helped her eat. Sally or Patsy spent every night to assist her with whatever needs she might have. Some nights the other bed in the room was empty and they could use it. Most of the time they had to sleep in a chair.
