Visit to the Huoshan Dam near Huoshan, Anhui, China

1. Anhui Fine Spirits Company Town

One day while visiting with Sam Yu's family, Sam suggested visiting the Huoshan Dam. Not too far from Sam's home we traveled to the dam in a taxi that Sam's family had rented for the week. A beautiful day with much sunshine and warm weather we started out to see the sites. On the way we saw this company town. It centers on the Anhui Fine Spirits Company Ltd. plant. Most of the town works at the plant or services the people who work there. Anhui is in the top of the lower third of the economic scale of Chinese provinces. Efforts to raise the economic level of the province have been taking place. This plant is part of that effort. The blue building to the left houses the plant itself.
