This is in case you left something in the taxi or they run off with your goods as you get out and before you take you luggage or property. Most good hotels will give you a slip with this information as you arrive at the hotel. Also make sure the taxi turns on the meter and pay only what the meter says. If any trouble contact the police immediately with the information you wrote down.
