Money Issued by the Republic of China
This note issued by the Central Bank of China in 1936 features a portrait of Sun Yat-sen on the front. The Thomas De La Rue & Company Limited London printed the note. Both the General Manager and Asst. General Manager signed the bill in English. Both men also had signed the two Twenty Cents notes. The General Manger also had signed the Ten Cents Bill. The apparently blank spot on the opposite side of Sun Yat-sen has a portrait of a man I cannot identify. You can see the picture only if you hold it up against the light. This profile portrait of some person can then be seen. I don't recognize the picture on the back. This bill measures 6 1/2 by 3 1/4 inches. -- By comparison the US Dollar bill measures 6 1/4 by 2 1/2 inches. Return to Republic of China Money On to Next Bill ⇨ |
