ROC 10 Yuan Bill - Front ROC 10 Yuan Bill - Back

Money Issued by the Republic of China

This interesting bill "Promises to pay the bearer on demand at its office here five hundred customs gold units." The picture on the back shows the headquarters of the Central Bank of China in Shanghai. On the front you see a portrait of Sun Yat-sen the first president of the Republic of China. I found it interesting to see the American Bank Note Company printed the bill. I also note that the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager signed the bill in English. If anyone has an idea of the value of the note at that time, I would love to find out. The bill has a date of 1930 on the back. The only bill I have seen with vertical positioning.

This bill measures 6 3/8 by 3 inches.
By comparison the US Dollar bill measures 6 1/4 by 2 1/2 inches
