Beijing Opera - "Meeting of the Elite"

Taishi Ci, one of Wu's ablest generals, with a green broken-flower face acted in "Meeting of the Elite." When Jiang Gan crossed the Yangzi to see Zhou Yu, the latter gave a banquet for his friend. Aware of the purpose of Jiang Gan's visit, Zhou issued an order at the banquet that no one was to talk about the war; only topics of friendship were allowed. Taishi Ci. sword in hand, was given the task of enforcing this order. Because nearly all of the most important civilian officials and generals of Wu were present at the banquet, Zhou Yu called it a Meeting of the Elite.
