Beijing Opera - "Eight Immortals Fight the White Ape"

White Ape with a white symbolic face plays the leading character in "Eight Immortals Fight the White Ape," an list-opera adapted from a fairy tale. The Queen of Heaven hosts a banquet at Jade Pond. White Ape comes in and steals some of the wine and fairy peaches, whereupon the queen orders the Eight Immortals to drive him away. Later, learning that the ape stole the peaches to cure his old mother's illness, she relents and gives him the fruit.
