Beijing Opera - "Pearl Screen Stockade"

Zhou Dewei with a red three-tile face stars in "Pearl Screen Stockade," adapted from a story in Romance of the Late Tang and Five Dynasties. Zhou was the chief of Pearl Screen Stockade. A Tang army under Li Keyong arrived to take the stockade, and Zhou challenged the Tang commander to an archery duel. When Li Keyong shot down two vultures with one arrow, Zhou acknowledged defeat and surrendered.
