Liu Zongmin with a red three-tile face plays a role in "Banner of the Daring Prince," a new history opera that tells how Li Zicheng, nicknamed the Daring Prince, and other leaders of peasant uprisings in the last years of the Ming dynasty quelled disturbances in the country and defeated the armies of Ming. Liu Zongmin was one of Li Zicheng's generals.
