Li the Heavenly King - Red Pointed Three-Tile Fairy Face

Fairy Face

This makeup, derived from the full face and three-tile face, represents Buddhas and deities. Its composition is patterned on Buddhist images. Gold and silver, the principal colors, symbolizes holiness and dignity. Alternatively, gold and silver lines or patches may be added to the background color. Apart from these distinguishing features, any unusual mark of trait supposedly possessed by a supernatural being is generally revealed in his stage makeup.

Li the Heavenly King with a Red Pointed Three-Tile Fairy Face is sent by the Jade Emperor with a host of heavenly soldiers to arrest the Monkey King in the opera "Havoc in Heaven."
