Graphic Art by Workers in Shanghai, Yangchuan and Luta
Foreword Guided by the revolutionary line of Chairman Mao Tsetung, a mass contingent of artists with workers, peasants, and soldiers as the core has been growing since the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution and the movement to criticize Lin Piao and Confucius. In Peking, following the 1973 showing of peasant paintings from Hushien County in Shensi Province, there was held in 1974 an exhibition of graphic art by workers in Shanghai, Yangchuan, and Luta in Liaoning Province. On display were many fine works which greatly inspired the people. Graphic art by amateur workers, peasants and soldiers artists has become a powerful weapon in grasping revolution and promoting production. Facts have proved that the workers, peasants and soldiers are the creators not only of social material wealth but the intellectual wealth as well. They are the masters of the socialist literature and art. This album presents a varied selection of items from the 1974 exhibition of graphic art by workers in the above mentioned three cities. Warmly depicting the workers', peasants' and soldiers' life of fiery struggle, the works breathe the spirit of our era. They are highly militant, closely related to the current revolutionary struggle and serve ton consolidate the proletarian dictatorship. Such works of art cannot but inspire the broad worker-peasant-soldier masses with yet greater zeal for the building of socialism. Move to Next - Table of contents Page 1 Return to Album - Page 1 |
