Lewis Ke's Family

The Xinzheng City government took us to visit the Lewis Ke (Kuh) family. They are a poor but proud peasant family who live in a village far out in the countryside. The city took us there in a police car complete with a policeman driver. On the left is the respected elder of the village. He persuaded the entire village to financially sponsor Lewis to go to college. Next to him are the Village Leader, then Lewis Ke, Lewis's Father, Paul Noll, Bernice Noll, Lewis's Mother, and his younger sister. Lewis's father sold his tractor to help pay for the tuition. The village has about 12 families living in it.
