Gardens in the City of Suzhou 5. Mid-Lake Pavilion Mid Lake Pavilion of the West Garden in the City of Suzhou. Nearby the Lingering Gardens, West Garden (Xiyuan) was given to a Buddhist monastery. The temple was destroyed in the Taiping Rebellion, and then rebuilt.
