21. Explore a Hutong

Here Bernice and Paul wander down a Hutong "alley." The "real" Chinese live and work in the quaint alleys. We enjoyed the leisurely walks in many places in the city. People always showed us great kindness and often invited us for tea and refreshments. Many of the Hutongs are being torn down in favor of high rise apartments.
