Scenes from the City of Guilin 7. Yangshuo Yangshuo, which means "Bright Moon" in Chinese, lies some 50 miles downriver from Guilin. The village is laid out in a garden of stone towers, haunting and surreal. Here the swirling, oddly contoured 300-foot limestone pinnacles sprout around every corner and in every empty field. The tour boats that ply the Li River from Guilin end their trips at Yangshuo, and buses transfer passengers back upstream to Guilin. You should stop to explore the city. ⇦ Back to Page 6 On to Page 8 ⇨Return to City of Guilin Page 1 |
