2. View from the Parking Lot

Here the big buses park. It the distance you can see the fort itself. The first view you see of the Fortress after arriving is the large and spacious front area which includes ample parking space and a Chinese Garden or Park, to the Central Valley from the North and Hei Shan, the Black Mountain. During the tourist season, buses with tourists arriving from Turpan via Dunhuang as well as from Lanzhou regularly offload at the parking area.
