24. Old City Earthen Wall

During the Spring and Autumn Period (770 to 476 BC), both the Zheng and Han Dynasties made the City of Xinzheng their Imperial Capital. They built this wall to protect the city some 2,600 years ago. It is an earthen wall and still is mostly intact except where they have cut into it to allow a road to pass through. One section of the wall is quite near SIAS University and it intersects People's Road East. It is about 25 feet high with very tightly packed soil and currently covered with trees and bushes.
