Transportation in China in 1988 Chinese Train Soft Seat Service - 28 China has an extensive train service, both local and long distance. The trains are clean and readily available except during the Chinese New Year. Available on the trains are four classes of accommodations, hard seat, soft seat, hard bed, and soft bed. This is the Soft Seat service. My friend Bob Caldwell and I are traveling to Shanghai from Wuxi. We travel on Soft Seat when we are going on a trip that is just the daytime and short time. It is about the same price as Hard Bed. Seats are two-wide with a table. Our seat stubs are in the sliver bowl on the table. You need those to get off the train. ⇦ Back to Page 27 On to Page 29 ⇨Back to Transportation - Page 4 |
