Transportation in China in 1988 Chinese Rickshaw Service - 31 When my 83 year-old Aunt came to visit us in Chengdu we took her to Church with us. We engaged a rickshaw to get her home after the service is over. It is not expensive but when it is just Bernice and me, we just ride our bicycles. The Rickshaws are now three-wheel bikes and can go much faster. This was 1984 and there were almost no taxis. Now taxis are plentiful and cost very little by American standards. Taxi prices were about a dollar in 1999. ⇦ Back to Page 30 On to Page 32 ⇨Hi-Res Pic (192K) Return to 1988 Transportation Page 4 |
