Transportation Scenes in Modern China - 2008 Three-Wheel Truck - 7 We came across this three-wheel truck on a rural road. You see many of these old trucks doing their duties hauling loads. A highway safety project was conducted on Jingjintang Expressway, one of the first freeways built in China. Results of the study show that, among other factors, the speed differential between cars, small trucks and large vehicles is a main cause of high crash fatalities, particularly for rear-end collisions. The lack of real-time enforcement, problematic driver behavior, and substandard roadside design, as well as overloaded trucks all contribute heavily to traffic crashes on China's freeways. ⇦ Back to Page 6 On to Page 8 ⇨Hi-Res Pic (101K) Return to Transportation Scenes - Page 1 |
