Anqing has a four-season, monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate, with chilly, damp winters and very hot, humid summers. Monthly mean temperatures range from 4.0 to 28.7 °C (39.2 to 83.7 °F) in January and July respectively; cold, dry winds from Siberia can cause lows during winter to sometimes drop below freezing, though conditions are normally damp and gloomy. Precipitation is greatest in spring and the former half of summer, unlike many areas to the north.
