Chifeng has a four-season, monsoon-influenced, continental steppe climate, with long, cold, windy, but dry winters, and hot, humid summers. Monthly mean temperatures range from -10.7 ºC (12.7 ºF) in January to 23.6 ºC (74.5 ºF) in July, with an annual mean of 7.5 ºC (45.5 ºF). Nearly half of the year's rainfall occurs in July and August, and even then dry and sunny weather dominates in the city. Baarin Left Banner or Bairin, is a banner of eastern Inner Mongolia, People's Republic of China. It is under the administration of Chifeng City, 195 Kilometers (121 mi) to the south-southwest.
