The city has a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate with short, mild winters, and long, hot and humid summers. The monthly daily average temperature ranges from 11.6 ºC (52.9 ºF) in January to 27.5 ºC (81.5 ºF) in July. Rainfall is greatest in spring and early summer and at its least in autumn and early winter. Longyan City lies in the lower left-hand corner of Fujian Province.
