4. Lesson on Prepositions

Today's lesson is on prepositions. They have a textbook that Paul and Bernice wrote, that helps them with the prepositions. In their regular Chinese taught classes, they are used to the teacher talking/lecturing the entire class and they listen with varying degrees of attention, ranging from rapt attention to REM (rapid eye movement, the deepest of sleep). In Paul's class they must respond with answers. With a wave of his hand and pointing Paul motions to a student to rise and answer a question in English. Because it is the Chinese habit to help fellow classmates with the answer, Paul has anyone who helps or gives the answer, go stand in the corner. The next talker takes their place. It is done with good humor and a great deal of laughter.
