Banpo Neolithic Village Xi'an - 2008 79. Copies of Terracotta Warriors On the left is a Charioterr and on the right is a Sworded General. Charioteers were found in all three pits. Chariots were widely used in wars at that time. Wearing officer's cap and guarded by one warrior on each side, a charioteer drives a chariot pulled by four horses. The general wears his gorgeous crest decorated with feather of an ancient bird good at fighting, and double layer campaign gown with armor on his chest, shoulder and back decorated with tassels, symbolizing his highest rank and prestige. The general, sticking a sword against the ground and smiling with confidence, has a sturdy constitution showing his grandeur. ⇦ Back to Page 78 On to Page 80 ⇨Hi-Res Pic (174K) Return to Banpo Village - Page 10 |
