The first night we set up our camp here. Just an open field but it is our home for a night. The first thing we did was to dig the latrine. The canvas covering for the latrine is just on the left of the picture. Sanitation is of primary concern for troops in the field. It is a matter of life and death in the field. We were to dig many latrines in Korea. And it was always the first thing to do each time we stopped for the night.
