581st Signal Co. at Inchon (1950)
6. North Korean Bunkers at Inchon There were elaborate fortifications in the harbor in the shoreline at Inchon. I was glad the marines had the job of the fighting and storming the land. We landed after the place was taken. My dad had served in the army for some 30 years in WWI and WWII and he had advised me to join the Air Force. I choose the army but had enough sense to get an advanced education in electronics so I would have a skill after the army for civilian life. I have nothing but admiration for the infantry but prefer to do my job. Success depends on all branches each doing their job. They need my communications to succeed and I need their skill to allow me to do my job. Although sometimes we get fired at on our isolated mountain stations.
