581st Radio Relay Co. in North Korea (1950)
4. 7th Infantry Division Arrives at Iwon During the time that we had driven up from Wonson to Iwon the 7th Infantry Division had loaded up on ships with all the men and equipment. Those ships then sailed up the coast of North Korea to Iwon. We had stayed in a school house for a few days while we waited for the location to set up our station. One day a Korean official came and asked us to help them make a banner welcoming the 7th Infantry Division that would be landing there in a few days. We replied we would help. We helped them make a big banner about 2-3 feet by 20-30 feet. The sign said, "Signal Corps Welcomes the 7th Infantry Division." Hi-Res Pic (83K)⇦ Back to Scene 3 Return to Page 1 On to Scene 5 ⇨ |
