This child laborer was the youngest I recall seeing. He doesn't look to be over twelve years old. Like most Korean workers he bore the responsibility of transporting nearly all of our equipment up the mountain. We usually carried the very minimum, belt, canteen, and carbine. The Koreans were always happy to get any work. The infrastructure was gone and the only work available was from the military. And we needed help to get our job done.
