This is "Mike, "a ROK soldier who was attached to us at the base camp in Kumi. He was an interpreter and spoke excellent English. He was the go- between in most dealings with the Koreans and helped recruit workers to carry materials up the mountain. He was very proud and always smartly dressed in his uniform which I cannot say for the rest of us.
