This sign was on the top of the mountain at the entrance of Salem Relay. It was there when I arrived and there when I left. It attested to the pride of those who served in the 581st Signal Company. Most members of the 581st were somewhat confined to their own Relay Site and knew the others only by occasional radio contact. As such, many members of the 581st know few others in their own company
