581st Signal Relay Troops Arrive in Korea 3. Pusan, South Korea This ship is the USNS Sgt. Joseph E Muller which was tied up at the dock at Pusan when we left Korea to attend the service school at Eta Jima, Japan. I don't recall if we sailed on this ship or another like it. During the Korean War a lot of ships like this were used to shuttle troops and cargo between Japan and Korea. The military, in it's infinite wisdom, was sending us to school for 30 days to learn how to set up and operate a radio relay site which i had already been doing for more than a year. Being good soldiers we never complained. The real "clutch" was, I was on my way home less than two months after returning to Korea. On to Scene 4 Back to Scene 2Hi-Res Pic (135K) Back to Cpl.
