581st Signal RR Co. on Hill 775 - South Korea (1951) 17. Two Ladies of the Small Village Occasionally whenever I could get away I would come to this village and visit with these people. The village had been situated high up in the mountains away from anything important and in a sense the war had just gone around them. We had far more food than we could use so every time I went to the village I took a lot of food and candy to share. I spent some time learning the Korean language so I could talk with them some. the village had about 6-7 kids 3-4 women and a few old men and the Pastor of their Church. They all made a young homesick lad feel at home. It was mutual benefit for all of us. Hi-Res Pic (119K) ⇦ Back to Scene 16 Return to Page 3 On to Scene 18 ⇨ |
