Richmond Relay - 1969-70
33. Richmond Site Defense
Visits between personnel on the U.S. radio site Richmond and the ROK radio site near it did not occur often. I think was it was mainly due to the language barrier but also depended somewhat on who was in charge of the sites at the time. Some ROK officers spoke English and enjoyed practicing conversation with us while others may have used these times to impress their men. This is according to some of the Korean personnel on Richmond Site. Anyhow, we did not get the opportunity to visit often but I did enjoy the time I did get to see the ROK site and facilities and got to meet some of the soldiers. I used to wonder and still do at times, what the young Korean soldiers thought of me, the American soldier, the U.S., our culture and about serving in their country for freedom's sake. ⇦ Back to Page 32 Return to Page 5 On to Page 34 ⇨ |
