7. Chinese Troops and Abandoned USA Trucks in the Chosin Reservoir The Chinese Troops were not very well equipped by American standards. Because of total air superiority, the Chinese troops must dig a foxhole for his safety for daylight. When it gets dark he can then travel. Traveling by day will result in death arriving from the air. His ration often consists of powered rice mixed with whatever he can find. Sometimes he gets a dried fish to eat. His uniform is a good cotton quilted pants and jacket. When it gets wet it becomes a deadly situation. The Chinese soldier for the most part has tennis like shoes for his feet, and were not satisfactory.
