Black-capped Chickadee

Poecile atricapillus -- This common black-capped species is told from the Carolina, whose range it may invade in winter, is by its rustier sides, white feather edges on wing, and whiter cheek patches. Whistled song is easily imitated; second note is 1 full tone lower. This lively shy bird showed up in March 2002 for the suet feeder. He brought many friends and now they all are regular feeders at both the Sunflower seed and Thistle seed feeders.
