Swallow Nests

Bird Nests at Our
Pleasant Hill, Oregon Home

16. Close up of a Swallow Nest

We have about five of these Swallow Nests on trees at our home. The wood should be rough Cedar. That allows the small baby birds easy time to get out. The hole size, and height is important. The nest must be cleaned out each year for the new comers. The front tilts out for easy cleaning. Four 3/8 holes in the bottom allows any water to escape and gives some ventilation.
