Canada Goose Branta canadensis. The most common and best-known goose, identified by the black head and neck and brood white cheek. It breeds on lakeshores and coastal marshes. Gathers in large flocks after breeding season and grazes in open fields within commuting distance of water. They migrate by day and night. The characteristic honking is well known. |
