Birds Likely to be Observed in Oregon
Location in Oregon
Long-billed Curlew Numenius americanus - Rather common. Nests in meadows and pastures; outside breeding season also found in marshes, mudflats, and beaches. The very long bill (length varies greatly) is a good filed mark. The cinnamon underwing linings clinch identification. Crown is unstreaked. Call is a plaintive cur-lew with rising inflection.
