Birds Likely to be Observed in Oregon
Location in Oregon
Sharp-shinned Hawk Accipiter striatus - Fairly common over most of North America in open woodlands and wood margins. The tail is narrower and more square-cut than Cooper's, sometimes even notched. This smallest accipiter preys on small birds up to the size of pigeons. Like other accipiters, it migrates during all daylight hours; flies just above treetops in early morning, often soars high at midday. Look at Next Bird Return to Likely Bird List - Page 4 |
