Redhead

Aythya americana - This common duck summers on ponds and lakes and winters in tidewater, often mixing with other bay ducks. The male has a large round head, light bill, dark breast, and white under parts. The female's rounded head, plain bluish bill, and lack of conspicuous eye ring and white face patch distinguish it from the Ring-tailed Duck and scaups.
