Location in Oregon
Mountain Bluebird Sialia currucoides - Fairly common. The sky-blue plumage of the male is diagnostic; neither sex has a rustic breast. The female can be recognized by its gray breast, and both sexes have a less hunched posture than the Eastern and Western Bluebirds. As its name implies, it is typical of high elevations in summer, being common above 5,000 feet and wandering in late summer up to 12,000 feet and in winter to sea level. |
