White-breasted Nuthatch Sitta carolinensis - Common in deciduous woodlands. Except for the white throat, resembles chickadee in plumage, though not in shape, or actions. Note the white face and solid black cap of male (gray in female). Call, a low yank-yank. Song, a 5-15 low rapid notes, given 6-15/min.
