Pluvialis Dominica - Rare to uncommon fall migrant. Found in pastures, farmlands, golf courses, airports, mudflats and shorelines, especially along the edges of reservoirs, marshes and sewage lagoons; also estuaries and beaches. Smaller, with a smaller bill than the Black-bellied Plover; wing stripe indistinct and underwings are smoky gray with no black in axillaries; no contrasting white rump. Winters in South America. |
