American Redstart Setophaga ruticilla - Locally uncommon breeding summer resident in the Blue mountains and Wallowa Mountains; very local and rare breeder on the eastern slope of the southern Cascades; rare migrant, mostly east of the Cascades; from mid-May to early June and from mid-August to early October. Call is a sharp, sweet chip; male's song is a highly variable series of tseet or zee notes, often at different pitches. |
