16 Steps to Freezing Peaches Step 11, Put Peaches in Hot Water After the split peaches are taken care of we will begin to process the rest of the peaches as they ripen. Bernice will sort them out in degrees of ripeness. Put the peaches in the wire basket. Dip them into boiling water 1/2 to 1 minute to loosen skins. Skins should slip off easily. Remove from the hot water and put them into cold water that has some salt in it. The salt will slow down the peaches turning brown. Try peeling first batch to determine how long a time to use.
