Step 16, Allow to Cool, Wash and Store Soup

Remove the jars using the jar lifter and set on newspapers to cool. Generally the next day you check for a seal and then remove the rings. Wash the jars in warm soapy water to remove all oil and debris. Let dry and mark the lids with a minimum of the year. Store with the rings off to prevent corrosion under the rings in a dark, cool place. When you open the jar then put back on a ring to store any unused soup.
