Set the others aside for the next days canning. Fill the Steam Canner with 6 to 8 cups of water and put on the stove to heat. Because the canner is aluminum we suggest putting 1 to 2 tablespoons of vinegar to the water to prevent darkening of the pan. Prepare the syrup. We like medium syrup, 1 part sugar to 2 parts water. You do not have to use any sugar but the sugar will helps to preserve color, flavor and texture. Light syrup is 1 part sugar to 4 parts water.
