Canning Pears

Green Pears - 1

This photo is here to remind you that pears are picked green. You must hold them until they ripen. They will turn yellow and softer. Don't wait too long. Ours sat in the refrigerator for a month until they were all ripe enough to use. Some we had left out and they ripened sooner and we did pear jam and pear butter.
