Fill the Hot Jar with Pears- 15

As soon as we have enough pear halves to fill a jar we take them to the kitchen counter to put them into a jar. Bernice uses a ordinary table knife to slide the pears carefully into the jar to get them packed as best she can. You fill the jar to the half-inch headspace. Paul will pour out any water collected in the jar from the pears sitting in the water.
